    Who is it suitable for?  This course is aimed at Plumbing and Heating Installers who wish to expand their knowledge of the electrical aspects of central heating systems and boilers. It is designed to provide basic knowledge of electrical installation skills, understanding of circuitry and a logical approach to fault finding using a multi-meter.

    What’s involved? 

    • The basics of electricity.
    • Domestic house wiring theory (Inc. typical domestic wiring circuits, earthing, safety and isolation of systems).
    • Central heating control systems (S Plan and Y Plan) and their functions.
    • Central heating appliance controls.
    • Using a logical approach for identifying and rectifying electrical faults on gas appliances.
    • Use of multi-meter to identify working & defective components like fans, air pressure switches, pumps, thermistors, gas valves, and much more.

     

    How is the qualification assessed? A PGL certificate is provided to prove competence.

    Entry requirements: Candidates should be plumbing and heating engineers. Current Gas Safe registration is required.

    Course Duration: 2 days.
