  • Who is the course suitable for? This course is ideal for those who are starting out in the construction industry.

    What’s involved in the course? This course covers a wide variety of skills ranging from plumbing and carpentry to tiling. Learners will need to undergo Health and Safety Awareness training, as well as sit a City and Guilds Health and Safety exam.

    Where can this course lead me? Upon successful completion, you could gain employment in the construction industry, or into Level 2 Diploma in Plumbing, Electrical or Carpentry Skills. There could also be the opportunity to undertake an Apprenticeship.

    Course details

    There are regular start dates for this course which lasts 8 days and is completed over 2-4 weeks. Candidates will need to create a portfolio of evidence and complete an assessment task for each unit. No previous experience is required for the City and Guilds Level 1 certificate in construction skills. This qualification is fully funded for those who are unemployed and aged 19 or over who are in receipt of Job Seekers Allowance or Employment Support Allowance.
